Alexey Kallima was born in Grozny in 1969 and currently lives and works in Moscow. Graduated from the University of Krasnodar, 1984-1988. Since 2001 curates the «France» Gallery. Kallima represented Russia at the 46th and the 53rd Venice Biennale (1995, 2009). In 2006 he won the prize for the Best Visual Art Work in the State Competition in Contemporary Arts INNOVATION, Moscow. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions worldwide including Russia, Europe and USA.
